Since 2013, the company has been supplying organic produce to the domestic market. However, bulk of Saaraktha's revenue came exports until the pandemic saw a higher demand from the local consumer base. Pre-pandemic, Saaraketha's domestic market comprised of mostly an urban, English-speaking clientele. However, after the lockdown in 2020, the company witnessed a sharp rise in online orders that helped sustain revenue amidst lower exports sales. To cater to this growing base of local consumers that were increasingly focused on health and wellness aspects, Saaraketha obtained the support of the Sri Lanka@100 platform to implement a strategic marketing & communications campaign. This has helped enhanced Saaraketha's brand positioning and gain traction in domestic sales as the premier supplier of quality organic produce and foods.
